B.C. Reg. 177/2024, deposited July 3, 2024, under the TENANCY STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2024 [section 45] and RESIDENTIAL TENANCY ACT [section 97]. Order in Council 396/2024, approved and ordered July 3, 2024.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective July 18, 2024,

(a) the following provisions of the Tenancy Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, S.B.C. 2024, c. 19, are brought into force:

(i) sections 3, 9, 10, 17, 20, 26 to 28, 31 and 33;

(ii) section 36 (b), as it enacts section 95 (1) (l.2) of the Residential Tenancy Act, S.B.C. 2002, c. 78;

(iii) section 37 (c), as it enacts section 97 (2) (n.7) (i) of the Residential Tenancy Act, and

(b) the Residential Tenancy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 477/2003, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix.

Appendix

1 The heading to Part 7 of the Residential Tenancy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 477/2003, is repealed and the following substituted:

Part 7 – Ending Tenancies .

2 The following section is added to Part 7:

Prescribed provisions for generated notices

42.1 For the purposes of section 53.1 (1) and (2) [generated notices for ending certain tenancies] of the Act, subsections (3), (4), (5) and (6) (e) of section 49 [landlord’s notice: landlord’s use of property] of the Act are prescribed.
